You may need to make a post-visit telephone call if referral sources (or the patient) note a caregiver is usually present but the caregiver is not there at the time of visit, especially if detailed information is needed about when confusion occurs. Although rare, in complicated patient circumstances an additional visit may be needed to coincide with when a caregiver is available to determine the most accurate response concerning confusion.
