Background for FAQ screen indicating the question and answer sections

Are reading glasses (including those bought at the grocery store) considered corrective lenses? What about a patient who uses a magnifying glass to read the paper or to read the labels on medications?

Reading glasses, including those purchased at the grocery store, are considered corrective lenses. Magnifying glasses are not. Therefore the patient can wear reading glasses when you evaluate his vision. Magnifying glasses should not be used for this evaluation.
